This adds an extra dimension to the festival and also brings it to life outside the park. The front gardens featured two categories:The professional jury prize and the audience prize.
Nominated for the jury award for front yard scare were:
- "On the pot" (#17) scare crow from Lindelaan 13, a cheerful, mischievous entry that puts an instant smile on the face.
- 'The hugs' terror no. (no. 7) from Dollar Court 35. Super original and so endearing that they actually don't scare away.
- scare crow 22 from Van de Venstraat 6, who took the theme of "scare" literally and figuratively to the next level.
Winner: scare crow 22 from Van de Venstraat 6
Not only because something is really happening - there wórld be changed! - but also because the whole thing just looks fantastic. The graphic elaboration deserves praise. The shape, color and composition reinforce each other, making the whole thing both powerful and aesthetically convincing. In short: do, dare and scare - exactly what this contest is all about. Congratulations on this splashy victory!
The Audience Award
The audience award is always objective. Voting takes place by asking the public to give the photos a like. An honorable mention is in order here for the Cuddles scare crow who managed to get 249 likes with a nevertheless somewhat smaller network on Facebook. Well done!!But likes are likes, and with 289 likes (at Saturday 12 o'clock the end time) the public prize of the front gardens goes to the equally wonderful scare crow of the Biezenrijt: Scare Crow No. 25 at the Dr. Schaepmanstraat 52.
